The Research Process can be simple or complex, quick or lengthy, depending
on the complexity of your information needs. But in general, the process
follows a predictable course. Having a sense of the overall picture can
keep you from getting bogged down in the details!

This tutorial introduces the student to the many-faceted information "landscape" and discusses how to choose intelligently among the many possible sources, such as scholarly and popular journals, databases, and the Internet. InfoHound also introduces the student to database search skills, such as how to develop a list of effective keywords. InfoHound includes interactive quizzes. Students can print out a personalized Certificate of Completion for each section of InfoHound.

In this age of the Internet, it is all too easy to forget that BOOKS often are fantastic resources for overviews, in-depth information, and analysis. Book bibliographies, where the authors cite sources they have relied on, can also be useful for your own research. This module demonstrates how to use the KML catalog and other catalogs to find books and audiovisual materials. It also shows you how to use the InterLibrary Loan service if you need materials that are not owned by KML.
This module demonstrates how to use the library's databases to find articles from scholarly journals, trade journals, popular magazines, and newspapers.
