Course Reserves Collection

What is the Reserves Collection?

The Reserves Collection consists of materials assigned by instructors as a supplement to their course.  Any Faculty or Staff member, with a valid U of I Identification Card, may place items on Reserve.  Items placed on Reserve are shelved behind the Reserve Desk.  A list of the Reserves Collection is available at the Reserves Desk, and it is arranged by the instructors' last names. The Reserves Collection may also be searched online.

How to Check-Out Reserves

To check-out a Reserve Item you must have a valid U of I ID Card.  Reserves may be checked out two at a time.   There is no hold policy for Reserve Materials and all renewals must be done at the Reserve Desk.

Overdue Fines and Replacement Cost

The fine for 2-hour items is $1.00 per hour, or portion thereof, up to a maximum of $25 per item.  The fine for 1-day, 3-day, 5-day, and 7-day items is $5.00 per day, up to a maximum of $25 per item.  The replacement cost for books from the KML collection is a flat fee of $50.00.  There is a replacement cost of $5.00 for lost photocopies.
