Sources of Information

Information can come from virtually anywhere -- personal experiences, books, articles, expert opinions, encyclopedias, the Web -- and the type of information you need will change depending on the question you are trying to answer


Look at the nine sources of information shown below. For each one, follow the links to learn about it by clicking on the image, and you will return to this page when each is done.  Then, click the forward arrow at the bottom of the page to proceed with Module 1.

As you study each of the nine sources, keep in mind the following three questions:

  1. Which sources can you find online?
  2. Which sources guide you to other information on your topic?
  3. Which sources would you use when writing a research paper?
